Meet the Staff

Rev. Carman Minarik, Pastor

Rev. Carman first came to know Jesus Christ as a young adult, and discovered through adult eyes that faith can not only make sense
for reasoning people, but that faith is the essential thing that is missing from so many lives. That experience is a source of his commitment
to bringing the gospel to those who are not yet part of a church family, as well as to quality Christian education that
encourages open exploration of our relationship with God.

Rev. Carman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University, and a Master of Divinity degree from Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. For recreation, Carman enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, playing tennis and basketball, biking, reading, and working with computers.

Rev. Donna Minarik, Pastor

Rev. Donna has been a Methodist all her life, hearing the stories of our faith tradition from her earliest recollection. As an adult, seminary classes opened up even more of the remarkable heritage of Methodism that shapes our church today. That heritage serves as inspiration to continue
our denomination’s commitment to spreading the gospel, working for justice, and celebrating God’s unending grace.

Rev. Donna earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Ohio Dominican College, and a Master of Divinity degree from
Methodist Theological School.  Donna is an avid reader, enjoys cooking foods from various cultures, and likes to grow things in the dirt.

Both Revs. Minarik share a conviction that the Christian faith is not about judgment, but about God's limitless love and acceptance.  They believe that each human being is of infinite value to God, and that each person is offered the amazing opportunity to partner with God
in the ongoing work of creating a world based on God's vision of peace, justice, and hope.  They consider it a great privilege
to be part of the faith journey of each person associated with the First UMC congregation, and helping each person grow in their relationship
with Jesus Christ
.

I have been a part of this church my whole life.  I was married here, my kids have grown up here.
I have taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, helped with Wednesday Youth Club, been part of about every event this church has had
over the years.  I look forward to this new adventure in my church life.
