Advent Study – Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes

mumc adventAdvent Study – Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes

This Advent we will have a special study to help us hone in on the story of Christ’s birth.

This Advent we will be reading Rev. Dr. Cynthia M Campbell’s, Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes, which looks at the Christmas narrative in the four different gospels and relates what distinguishes each Gospel. She uses the analogy of setting your house for Christmas, and how each Gospel distinguishes itself in depth and story.

This book is simple enough that it will be easy to read through during Advent but will also provide some good thoughts and questions to help us to grow in faith and understand the story of Christmas better.

If you are interested in partaking in the study, we will have two options for you to join. We will have an in-person class each Tuesday at 2:00 at the church. We will also have a Zoom option Tuesday evening at 7:30pm.

We will meet November 29th, December 6th, December 13th, and December 20th.

If you are interested, please call or email to let Wendy and Pastor Dan know so we can provide you a book. Books will cost $10, but if you need help with cost, please let us know.

Please let us know if you are signing up for the afternoon or evening class.

February Sermon Series:
“Advice From Jim”

This February we will be looking into the book of James to help us understand the ways we can live our Christian faith. Our series will be “Advice From Jim” and will include talking about ways that we can live out our faith, be careful with our words, seek to live humbly, and have the power to endure through Christ. Although the book of James is not the most looked to text, there is much to learn!
